If you love to be in the kitchen and want to provide delicious and nutritious meals to those in need, Rainbow Kitchen is the place for you. We are currently seeking to add to our roster of chefs and sous chefs to help facilitate our hot meal programs.
Whether you are a home cook or a professional looking to use your skills in a new way, we want to hear from you.
How Does Being a Cook Work?
Rainbow Kitchen provides 200 meals every day and that’s no easy feat. Luckily, you don’t have to do it alone. Our team approach sees one lead chef, one sous chef and a secondary team of 8-10 volunteers to pull meals together. We’ve found that this approach leads to a less stressful and more enjoyable environment where everyone can cook and have fun at the same time.
What makes for a good Chef? Well, you’re able to pull together a delicious and nutritious meal with the available ingredients at Rainbow Kitchen. These ingredients change every day, so being creative and resourceful is the name of the game. You’ll also need to have great leadership skills as when it is your day to be chef, you’re at the helm of the kitchen and will lead your crew in the preparation of your dish! It may sound intense, but we will set you up for success.
Would you rather be the second in command? We need Sous Chefs as well! If you would rather be the second in command and work alongside the designated chef to execute the vision, that’s awesome!

Applicants are required to:
Be outgoing, fun and caring
Have a passion for feeding their community
Be able to commit to a regular schedule
Food Safe certification is required, but if applicant is the right fit, Rainbow Kitchen will pay for the certification.
